The quivers we have are mostly from Joseon dynasty era serving the purpose of either for leisure or war. To serve the war, the quiver is short in length and long in diameter to keep more arrows.

Materials used for quiver were commonly bamboo trees and followed by paper, shell of turtle, shark leather and others. Quivers were decorated with varnish, pieces, and mother-of-peral work and the most commonly used patterns were ten long-living animals, dragons and trees.
